Kindergarten Soccer will meet on 7 Saturday mornings, September 12 through November 7 (except September 19 and October 10) at Richardson Field, located between Beethoven and Allen Avenues (just beyond Zervas School). A few games are also played at Zervas School. All teams will play from 9:30 to 10:30. Children must be accompanied by an adult - this is not a drop-off program. Your child will receive a team t-shirt, as well as a medal or trophy at the end of the program. Every child must bring a size 3 soccer ball and wear shin guards each week. If you ordered this equipment through our program, the equipment will be delivered on the first day. You will be contacted by a coach the week prior to the first session. All children who will be entering kindergarten in Newton in the fall of 2009 are invited to participate. The program is an introduction to soccer and the focus is on fun and developing confidence. The teams are small and each session includes drills and a scrimmage.If soccer is cancelled because of weather on a Saturday morning, we will email all participating families and post a message on this site. If the City of Newton closes the fields, then Kindergarten Soccer is cancelled, regardless of weather. You can check the city's field conditions here or call (617)796-1536 for the field use hotline.
